Okay - so this might seem like old news to some of you - you know, you facebookers - but it's not really fair to post about our little violinist and not have a post about our dancer.
To be honest, Gabi was NOT the one that I expected to keep up with dance. But she's the one who has. She really enjoys ballet (and yes, so does her sisters.. but Gabi's the one who has so far stuck with it).

It had actually been a rough year for her - see, our family has had a lot of illness - a lot - over this past school year. And Gabi in particular seemed to get everything and stay down longer then the rest. I suppose this has to happen every so often so that our immune systems can recharge. Regardless, this meant that she had several days when she missed ballet.

She also had a couple of times when she'd hurt her leg and went to class, but was limited or had to just watch. And then there was the time when we thought she was having a particularly bad bout of allergies - though later we had to wonder if it was a cold, just not showing up in the normal way. Anyway - it was rough, but she stuck with it all and she did amazing.
This year was also longer then in the past - being about a month longer.
AND
This was the year that Gabi had to choose which form of dance to continue with - the classes finally split. So, she chose ballet.

The ballet this year was Cinderella. A friend of ours was Cinderella - and we LOVE watching her. Not only is she beautiful - but she dances amazingly well. She's just passed her teaching test for ballet and (if Gabi sticks with it) will be Gabi's dance teacher for the first half of the year before our friend heads off to college to study - yup - ballet! We are excited about this.
Anyway, Gabi's class was a group of very cute girls - all dressed up fancy for the ball. They were the simple ladies of the village. (And one friend told me that Gabi looked like Truly Scrumptious from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.)
She had a lot of fun - and was beautiful in the rehearsals. Of course, Daddy said she was wonderful during the performance as well. I missed that part because we had sick kids - so, since I'd done the dress rehearsals, Daddy, Grandma, and Beth (thank goodness she was well) went to the big night.
I guess now we wait and see what next year brings!
