We waited until the night before Halloween to carve pumpkins. Our lives had been so busy and then we just took that last week to ourselves... sort of... just not doing anything extra.
Traditionally the kids all draw pictures on paper of what they want their pumpkins to look like and then Bob cuts and makes it real. This year, everyone dug out their own pumpkin - except Jacob who didn't really get to do it, though he thought the pumpkins were pretty neat.
Jeremy and Gabi didn't mind the slimy guts and went for it hands first.
My job was gathering the guts and extracting seeds - which we dried over night and then tossed in melted butter and a touch of salt, the roasted in the oven. Yummy, yummy!
The next adventure with pumpkins will be Peter and I cooking and storing the others from the garden... and gathering more seeds for roasting... next week's adventures!
