Phonics - Beth Style

So the other day in the midst of chaos, Juanita and I decide to move the kitchen table around creating a large space for the children to dance in. We had the Christmas music blaring - literally (Bob was just below us working in the shop)- so we thought the kids could burn off some of their energy dancing (since it was raining a beautiful icey rain - perfect for getting sick in).

Apparently, during the back and forth of kids running in to dance and running out again to do other activities, Jeremy decided this large space was perfect for riding the toddler bike. Beth, on the other hand, was still dancing. Beautiful, graceful, sweet... in her own world... until..... Jeremy tried to run her over!

The next thing we hear is "No. No. No! This is the dance a-RE-a! This is the dance a-RE-a!

It only took a minute to figure out what she was trying to say.... area, not a-RE-a! :) It was cute to see that a word she already knew was now pronounced differently because that was how she determined to sound it out!
