Our newspaper - today's paper - actually arrives on Monday night. Bob loves this - the kids will go to bed, he'll run out and get the paper, and then he goes through it all. He loves to keep up with the news - locally, nationally, and, of course, back in dear ol' Maine! But even with that, he likes to go through the weeks Ads because the new ones start on Wednesday and the old ones end on Tuesday. That means he can decide if the price is better for the one set or the other before running off to buy whatever we need.
Last night he made his weekly trip out to the newspaper box. Upon coming inside, as he entered the living room flipping the paper out so he could see the whole thing, he started laughing. Obviously this meant someone made the front page... and that it was probably for a silly reason. So I had to ask.
It was.....
Wait for it.....
Wait for it....
JEREMY!
Cute as a button - with his groundhog.
Yes, I said groundhog. No he doesn't have a pet - although I'm sure he'd love one. His class each made a paper bag groundhog and throughout the day on Feb. 2nd they took them outside to see their shadows. And it was Jeremy, just Jeremy, who made the front page!
Well, good ol' Phil may not have seen his, but Jeremy's saw his shadow every time!
So yes... a grand, large picture of my sweet, cute boy right on the front page... and yes, for something rather silly! And you know what.... he's only 5 and already he's made a bigger headline than his daddy (who has been in lots of papers, but never the front page)! All for Groundhogs Day!
Awesome! Go Jeremy!
