While eating dinner last night, Peter decided he would be inventive with avoiding his food. Here's the conversation (more or less).
P: "My food is locked."
M: "Well you still need to take bites."
P: "But I can't. My food is locked."
B: "Then unlock it and take a bite."
P: "But I don't have the key."
Bob pretends to make a key and passes it to Peter.
B: "Here you go. Now unlock it."
Peter takes the pretend key and pretends to try it in the lock.
P: "But it's not the right key."
B: "Yes it is. It's just upside down. Turn it over and unlock your food."
Peter (clearly not happy with that particular comment) looks at the pretend key, looks back at Bob, then pretends to turn it over and try the lock again. Before he can comment...
B: "Click. See, it worked."
Peter (mouth open as though he was going to say something else) stops, smiles and says "Click, click."
Love it! Your kids have a great imagination!
