We don't have church until 11am this year. It's nice in a lot of ways - like we can sleep in, or even if we don't, we have time to let the kids come jump in our bed and play games (okay, so that's mostly the Daddy and kid tickle and trap game). It's really nice.
But since Bob had had a really long day the day before (he'd gotten called to meet with the Temple President), I got up with the kids and pulled the door shut most of the way. Out in the living room I was present a bit of a concert - after all, both girls are taking piano lessons from grandma (thanks so much for helping to keep the music in our house alive!) and both boys want to be. Everyone takes turns on the piano - well, it was Peter yesterday morning.
When Peter plays, it's not really music, though generally he's really good about playing gently and sweetly so it's still enjoyable. The best part, he sings along - and yesterday had us all singing along. He would name a song, start playing the piano and we'd sing. As soon as the song was done, he'd climb down and come sit beside me saying "Now it's time for a family prayer" and as soon as he'd say a prayer, then he'd say "Now it's time for more Sacrament Meeting" - which meant more music and more singing.
It was a wonderful way to start our Sunday - mini "Sacrament Meetings" just for us!
